SafeLive SendItSecure Release Notes

This document contains a short description of the changes that were introduced with each version of SafeLive SendItSecure.  The version numbers appear in reverse chronological order.

Version 2.2.49

This release includes several new features, along with improvements of overall usage.

The exciting new feature being released is called Large File Transfer. With this feature, a user can simply attach a file of any size (5 MB, 500 MB, and beyond) to a SendItSecure message and send it. SendItSecure will encrypt the message and transfer it through the SafeLive Corporation's secure website, bypassing the limitations of traditional e-mail attachments. This feature makes it easy to exchange files of any size with your correspondants easily, and securely. Also note that SafeLive Corporation will not be able to see the contents of your attachment because the encryption key used to encrypt it is not known by SafeLive Corporation.

Microsoft Outlook 2003 and 2007 integration has also been dramatically improved. Several bug fixes and improved user experience make it easier and more stable to use.

Version 2.1.32

This release is mainly a bug fix release.

Version 2.1.31

A new feature called "Message Pickup".  Message Pickup allows biometric SafeLive users send secure messages to people who do not have a fingerprint reader or a SafeLive account.  See the documentation for details on this new feature.

Outlook 2007 integration is now supported.  If you are using Windows XP you may need to install the .NET framework version 2.0 or higher and the Microsoft Office Interop Assemblies.  See the download page for details on this.

Tabbing fixed in the compose window of the built-in user interface.

Version 2.0.25

A minor change was made to remove a dependency that the SafeLive ActiveX control had on a DLL that may not be installed on all Windows systems.

You can now drag and drop files into a new message window when using the SafeLive built-in user interface.

Version 2.0.24

This version of SafeLive supports Windows Vista.  It also supports web login using your fingerprint for SafeLive-enabled web sites.

The SafeLive built-in e-mail application is now more full-featured.  You can use this application to both send and receive e-mails.  For outgoing e-mail, it supports SMTP servers, and for incoming e-mail, it supports POP3 servers.

Version 1.1.21

Occassionally, Outlook would generate an error and exit, indicating that the SafeLive add-in was causing a problem.  This would occur when doing certain Outlook operations, such as Advanced Find.  This has been fixed.

If multiple Outlook top-level windows were created, when opening a secure message, the user was prompted multiple times for a fingerprint.  This has bene fixed.

Version 1.1.20

A problem with too many "Secure with SafeLive" buttons showing on the Outlook Send window has been fixed.

The DEL key in the SafeLive built-in compose window was not working.  This has been fixed.

The prompts for the Enrollment Wizard has been improved.

Version 1.1.19

When creating a new message window in Outlook, the SafeLive add-in was deleting any data that happened to be on the clipboard.  This has been fixed.

Version 1.1.18

Sometimes very large messages in Outlook could not be sent or forwarded using SafeLive.  This has been fixed.

Version 1.1.17

When sending messages through Microsoft Exchange to members of your own organization, SafeLive was not resolving the e-mail addresses correctly.  This has now been fixed.

When sending a message directly from the Windows shell, for example, by right-clicking on a file and selecting Send to Mail Recipient, SafeLive was generating an error message and not allowing the file to be sent.  This has been fixed, however, you cannot send a file using SafeLive from the Windows shell.  It will always be sent normally.  This will be addressed in the near future.

Version 1.1.16

When sending a message from Outlook that you have designated as a SafeLive message, you now have the option of sending it "unsecure" instead when you are prompted for your fingerprint.  For example, you may change your mind after clicking the Send button.  This feature makes it more convenient to change the mode to "unsecure" without having to cancel the operation and change the mode manually.

The reader setup procedure would sometimes experience an error if one of the files that it was trying to install was locked.  This has been fixed.

If you are integrating SafeLive with Microsoft Outlook, the default message mode is now "unsecure", meaning that new messages will not be sent using SafeLive unless you click the "Secure with SafeLive" button.  You can change this default setting through the SafeLive settings and preferences screen.

Version 1.1.15

Plain text messages are now shown correctly in the SafeLive built-in user interface.

The "outer" message text for SafeLive messages was changed slightly to lessen the possibility of junk e-mail filters flagging SafeLive messages as junk mail.

Version 1.1.14

Support for printing a received message from the SafeLive built-in user interface was added.

Version 1.1.12

Integration with Outlook 2000 and later was added.
