SendItSecure Goes Mobile, BlackBerry Style

Tuesday, June 24, 2008

Within the next few weeks, we should have a beta version of SendItSecure for BlackBerry.  This BlackBerry application will enable SendItSecure users to send and receive secure, encrypted messages using their BlackBerry's.  It integrates directly with the Messages application, so it works with your existing e-mail.

For security, the BlackBerry application will utilitze two-factor authentication: A passphrase that only you know, and a private digital certificate.  This way, a message can only be opened by knowing the passphrase AND having the registered mobile device.

Here's a quick demo:

When you receive a message, you simply enter your mobile passphrase that you set up when you "enrolled" your BlackBerry:

New Message Open Message 1 Open Message 2

When you send a message, you do the same thing:

Send Message 1 Send Message 2 Send Message 3

Also, the mobile passphrase is cached for a short time, so you only need to enter it if your device remains idle for a small amount of time.

Check back soon because we'll post again when it's available!  Oh, and don't forget to subscribe to our blog with your favorite RSS reader :)

Happy messaging!

Making E-mail More Useful

Wednesday, May 28, 2008

E-mail is great.  I use it all the time.  But let's say I need to send someone some confidential information.  In my work, this is usually new username/passwords or software design documents.  I don't want this information being tapped into by anyone else.

For those confidential e-mails, I encrypt the messages using SendItSecure.  It's easy: I just hit 'New Secure Message' in Outlook (added by the SendItSecure Software), compose it, hit send, and then swipe my finger.

This simple step will ensure that the information in that e-mail will remain completely private.

Now that I can send and receive any type of information (even confidential info), e-mail is just a little more useful.

New Website, New Name, New Features!

Thursday, January 17, 2008

We have been hearing great things from our customers using SafeLive Secure E-mail. But we have still been working hard to provide the best and highest quality software possible. So, along with the new website design, the new name (SafeLive SendItSecure) we have many new and exciting features. This version also includes many new enhancements and bug fixes.

You can download the new beta version here.

Secure Large File Transfer

Have you ever had to send a very large file across the internet? Does it contain sensitive information?

SendItSecure has solved your problem! With the new version, you can now send and receive any size file (10MB, 100MB, 1GB, 2GB, ...) simply by just attaching the file to a secure message.  SendItSecure takes care of the rest.

Fingerprint Caching

The number of fingerprint scans can be reduced by using a feature called "fingerprint caching."  It works by temporarily storing your encrypted fingerprint in memory so it is available the next time SendItSecure needs it, within a determined time interval.

New Website and New Name

We have worked hard to make our new website convey the purpose and value of securing e-mail using biometrics.  The new name, SendItSecure, we hope will also convey our message.  Let us know what you think, good or bad!

SafeLive Version 2.1 Introduces Additional E-mail Features

Thursday, July 05, 2007

Living Software has introduced version 2.1 of SafeLive. This version contains a number of enhancements to its ultra secure e-mail capabilities.  Version 2.1 also supports Windows Vista!

Using SafeLive, you can now send biometrically secured messages to recipients that are not enrolled into SafeLive and do not have a fingerprint reader.  This feature is called "Secure Message Pickup".  Here's how it works:  When you send a message to someone that is not enrolled into SafeLive, SafeLive will ask you if you would like to send a message pickup notice to the recipient.  You will also be asked a security question that only you and the recipient would be able to answer.  Or you can enter the recipient's mobile phone number and SafeLive will send an access code to the person.  The recipient will receive a "pickup notice" containing a link to the SafeLive secure web site.  Upon arriving at the site, the recipient will need to answer the security question that you set up ahead of time or request that the access code be sent to the mobile phone number that you designated.  Then the message will be displayed.  The recipient can even reply to the message and you will receive it via SafeLive.

Those who receive your messages using this method will still know for sure that you sent it.  The security question or mobile phone access code provides you with an assurance that only the recipient can read the message.

Living Software Introduces Secure E-Mail Solution Based on BIO-key Biometric Software

Wall, NJ, & New Richmond, WI, October 9, 2006 - BIO-key International, Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board: BKYI), a leader in finger-based biometric identification and wireless public safety, and Living Software, a leading provider of secure office solutions, today announced the immediate availability of SafeLive, a software product that secures e-mail with fingerprint biometrics.

Through the software's simple and intuitive interface, the e-mail sender signs and encrypts the message being sent by scanning his finger. When the message is delivered, it can only be decrypted and opened by the designated recipient(s) with their fingerprint(s), to assure the identity of both the sender and receiver. At the core of the SafeLive solution, is BIO-key's biometric software platform, Vector Segment Technology™ (VST). When combined with Living Software's SafeLive solution, VST brings the power and security of biometric technology to the everyday task of sending and receiving e-mails. The product interfaces seamlessly with Microsoft Outlook or can be used with a variety of e-mail products, including web-based systems. SafeLive is easy to deploy given that no additional infrastructure, such as changes to e-mail server software, is required.

Daniel O. Sanderson, Living Software's President and CEO noted, "SafeLive truly ensures the identity of e-mail users solely on the basis of a natural characteristic that is unique to each of us; our fingerprint. This is a superior alternative to traditional secure e-mail products."

Mike DePasquale, CEO of BIO-key, added, "There currently exists a wide variety of inexpensive fingerprint readers and the bulk of them are operable with BIO-key's software. Consequently, coupled with SafeLive, organizations seeking a secure email solution now have a cost effective alternative that can be quickly deployed, no matter what hardware or software infrastructure or device their constituents choose."
