SafeLive Version 2.1 Introduces Additional E-mail Features
Thursday, July 05, 2007
Living Software has introduced version 2.1 of SafeLive. This version contains a number of enhancements to its ultra secure e-mail capabilities. Version 2.1 also supports Windows Vista!
Using SafeLive, you can now send biometrically secured messages to recipients that are not enrolled into SafeLive and do not have a fingerprint reader. This feature is called "Secure Message Pickup". Here's how it works: When you send a message to someone that is not enrolled into SafeLive, SafeLive will ask you if you would like to send a message pickup notice to the recipient. You will also be asked a security question that only you and the recipient would be able to answer. Or you can enter the recipient's mobile phone number and SafeLive will send an access code to the person. The recipient will receive a "pickup notice" containing a link to the SafeLive secure web site. Upon arriving at the site, the recipient will need to answer the security question that you set up ahead of time or request that the access code be sent to the mobile phone number that you designated. Then the message will be displayed. The recipient can even reply to the message and you will receive it via SafeLive.
Those who receive your messages using this method will still know for sure that you sent it. The security question or mobile phone access code provides you with an assurance that only the recipient can read the message.
